Dear Mr. Holtzman,
Having recently read two articles on a possible connection between chipping dogs and bone cancer, I sent them to friends in Texas who show and breed
Akitas (large dog originally from Japan). They replied that none of their dogs have been chipped. However,
some years ago they had bought a female
directly from Japan where she had been
chipped prior to departure. This dog was also their only one to die from
bone cancer a few years later.
